Mini First Aid was born in 2014 with the aim of offering quality baby and child first aid classes to parents and carers. Initially operating from her kitchen in Leeds, mum Kate Ball had a vision of creating relaxed first aid classes where parents could learn the skills needed to cope in an emergency, in a family friendly environment. Kate is absolutely passionate that every family up and down the country learns basic first aid, after suffering a close personal loss in which the bystanders were tragically unable to offer life-saving help. Now 7 years later and with 65 plus trainers training around 1000 parents in life saving skills every week. Mini First Aid is proud to be offering potentially life-saving classes for Our Baby Club.
The Mini First Aid core class is the 2-hour Baby and Child First Aid class, which aims to give new and expectant parents the peace of mind to be able to deal with first aid emergencies. Covering CPR, choking, bumps, burns, breaks, bleeding, febrile seizures and meningitis awareness, this practical course teaches first aid techniques suitable for new born babies through to primary school aged children. Loved by The Unmumsy Mum, rugby hero Jonny Wilkinson and his wife Shelley as well as the wonderful Giovanna Fletcher, our 2-hour class is a MUST for parents of babies and young children. As Giovanna says:
“Obviously, I hope I never have to use the things I learned in today’s class, but horrible things happen and knowing these techniques can really make a huge difference. The class was fun and accessible given the seriousness of the topic. I would highly recommend everyone doing it.” Giovanna Fletcher
Mini First Aid featured on BBC One Dragons’ Den in June 2021 securing investment from Sara Davies MBE. Here is what Sara had to say about Mini First Aid partnering with Our Baby Club.
“I am really excited that Mini First Aid trainers have the opportunity to bring that bit of magic from Dragons’ Den and their undisputed excellence in the field of first aid teaching to each Our Baby Club antenatal course attendee.” Sara Davies MBE
