Frequently Asked Questions!

What qualification will I receive?
Our training will provide you with a Teaching Diploma in Antenatal & Postnatal Education accredited by FEDANT - created and taught by midwives and FEDANT accredited tutors so you can be assured you are being taught the very best content by the very best teachers.
Why is this specific FEDANT accreditation so important?
FEDANT is the only regulatory body for Antenatal Educators in the UK, it was established in accordance with government requirements and currently has representation on 22 Parliamentary Groups and Committees. FEDANT is also a reference source for recruitment in the NHS. Once your training is complete you will be awarded with a Certificate and you can then add your name to the FEDANT Teaching Register - which means parents can find you online and be assured that you are an accredited teacher.
How long will it take for me to study? Can I fit it in?
Our course has been designed to work flexibly around other commitments.
The course consists of a combination of 6 weekly evening 7-9pm LIVE online classes and assignments which can be completed at your own speed at a time that suits you via our dedicated training portal. It can all be completed within 6 weeks if you want to get going but equally you can take your time and go at your own pace.
Rest assured that we often have babies on laps, children in pyjamas wandering in and out during training- there is no formality so please don't worry about interruptions!
I can't make all the sessions?
If you need to miss a session no problem - we'll ensure you are caught up.
Can I pay in instalments?
Absolutely- you can choose to pay across 3, 6 or 12 months. Full details on costs can be found in our brochure- please request one here .
How will I be assessed?
Assessments will be done via a combination of set assignments and live teaching assessment which can be done around your own schedule. Rest assured that the training has been designed to fit around family and work life.
Do I need any qualifications to do this?
No! We just ask that you come with passion and enthusiasm for our mission!
Where can I work following training?
Our Graduates go on to teach clients in private practice and to work within the NHS and GP surgeries. As well as teaching classes some also choose to support private clients one to one postnatally at home.
Once you have your Diploma you can go on to create your own lesson plans, branding and communications toolkit - or buy them from us- our award winning class content has been years in the making and is built on research and true parent insight. And if you want to get going with none of the hassle of building your own website and booking system or designing your own brand and marketing materials- you can join us with an exclusive Our Baby Club local brand in your area ( subject to availability -request a brochure here for more details).
Do you offer support after training?
Yes! Everyone that completes their Diploma with us gets access to our closed facebook support group- there is always someone on hand to answer any questions and importantly to cheerlead! We've all been in the same position at the start of our new ventures so we have lots of quality insight and learnings to share.
We also invite everyone to our OBC Annual Training Day!
What if I already run a business in this sector or am already qualified?
You are warmly welcome to train with us and add new services to your existing business - you can even purchase our unbranded teaching resources to brand up and make your own! If you are already qualified you are also welcome to purchase our resources and even join under our Our Baby Club brand.
Is it compulsory to join under the Our Baby Club brand afterwards?
Absolutely not - we guide, nurture and encourage all our students to be the very best Modern Antenatal Teachers out there- regardless of whether they join us after they have completed their study under an Our Baby Club local brand. Everyone is welcome!
